The fourth committee meeting under the National–Nairobi County Government Cooperation Agreement.

This morning, Michael Lenasalon, the Principal Secretary for Devolution, attended the fourth committee meeting under the National–Nairobi County Government Cooperation Agreement.

‎The session reviewed progress, addressed emerging challenges, and aligned priority interventions to enhance service delivery across the capital.

‎Key updates from subcommittees included:

‎1.) Water & Sanitation: Progress in expanding water infrastructure, sewerage coverage and reducing water losses, with a focus on improving access in informal settlements.

‎2.) Roads: Ongoing road rehabilitation, decongestion efforts, and upgrades including drainage, street lighting, landscaping, and smart traffic systems.

‎3.) Urban Planning: Advancements in development control, spatial planning, and plans for modern markets and trade centers.

‎4.) Environment: Continued efforts in waste management, green space restoration, and environmental sustainability through joint enforcement and public awareness.

‎PS Lenasalon called for a unified implementation matrix to strengthen progress tracking while Nairobi Governor, Johnson Sakaja emphasized the need for efficiency and economic viability in implementation.
‎The meeting reaffirmed the critical role of coordinated national and county collaboration in accelerating solutions to Nairobi’s urban challenges. 

‎The PS was accompanied by his Technical Advisor Margaret Osili and Assistant Directors Mercy Maina and Fredrick Kanini.
