Launch of the Machakos County Human Resource Management Policies
The Principal Secretary for the State Department for Devolution, Teresia Mbaika, today attended the official launch of the Machakos County Human Resource Management Policies at the Whitehouse Machakos, marking a significant milestone in the county’s efforts to enhance governance and service delivery.
Speaking at the event, PS Mbaika highlighted the importance of human capital in building a successful government saying a well-structured and dynamic human resource policy is essential for fostering professionalism, ensuring efficiency and promoting a motivated workforce.
“By launching this policy, Machakos County is demonstrating its commitment to excellence in governance, service delivery and employee welfare.”
The newly launched policies are designed to provide clear guidelines on recruitment, performance management, diversity and inclusion, staff welfare and ethical standards. They are aimed at ensuring that Machakos County remains competitive, adaptable and people-centered in its approach to human resource management.
Machakos Governor Hon Wavinya Ndeti also lauded the launch saying it signified a new dawn in Machakos County operations prioritizing excellent service delivery, structured and responsive Human Resource management and a renewed determination to serve the public with honesty and diligence.
She also announced the promotion of over 1,000 county employees who had stagnated for between 7 - 10 years, boosting employee morale and ensuring productivity at the workplace.
Mbaika concluded by congratulating the Machakos County Government for its visionary leadership, expressing her confidence that the new human resource policies would inspire a motivated, empowered, and dedicated workforce in the service of the public.
