The Ministry of Devolution is responsible for supporting County Governments through policy formulation, capacity support and intergovernmental relations. Additionally, the state department manages the shared function of disaster risk management between the National and County governments.
This website has therefore been created to increase public awareness on the role of the Ministry in delivering its mandate, while ensuring there is an avenue for public participation through a feedback mechanism offered in this platform. The information available in this website includes county information, projects undertaken, and the organizational framework through which we deliver our services.

Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP) and Environmental and Social Commitment Plan (ESCP) on Kenya Devolution Support Programme II
The State Department for Devolution is undertaking a comprehensive review of the Policy on Devolved System of Government 2016.The review aims to assess the effectiveness of the current Devolved System of Governance and identify any gaps or challenges that need to be addressed through policy reforms. We therefore invite Ministries Departments and agencies(MDAs) to provide their views, recommendations and proposals to inform this policy review process.
